RCMB Temporary Field Rules Amendment

Postby Jim Jurkowski » Wed Jun 10, 2020 10:14 pm

RCMB Members,
1. Please see the below AMENDED Temporary Field Rules!
2. There is a new sink installed on the kitchen deck for hand washing.  (Thanks Chuck Moreland)  Note: Chuck says water supply is limited so avoid taking a shower there please!
3. Check Website homepage for latest updates ( button marked website updates) for pictures and announcements.  (Thanks Mike Bagley)
4. Lots of us are flying electrics these days and when batteries run down, landing is not optional.  Please clear the runway as soon as possible after you land!
5. Please continue to practice social distancing.  It been great to see everyone again at the field but let's stay safe.

Jim
PS One final note--we are keeping an eye on the virus.  If it continues to subside, we will resume with meetings (outdoors) in July.  The  July meeting is on the calendar for the 14th but this would be weather dependent as we are outdoors.  Stay tuned!

RCMB TEMPORARY FLYING RULES
Effective June 11th 2020 Until Further Notice

The following rules are guidelines which RCMB Board of Directors strongly recommends members follow. These rules are not enforceable and carry no penalty. Therefore, please do not confront members at the field unless your safety/personal space (6 feet) is threatened. Politely ask offending members to step back in that case. The BoD anticipates your cooperation as a club member in the interest of your safety and that of your fellow fliers.
1. Rule #1 is amended as follows. The flying field is open for normal flight operations. Please maintain social distancing of at least six feet, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, etc. Masks are optional but certainly may be worn at your discretion. Masks should be worn in the clubhouse.
2. The BoD is restricting usage to members only (please refrain from bringing guests) and training of new students remains suspended at this time.
3. Rule #3 is rescinded. On WEEKENDS, members with EVEN AMA numbers may fly on SATURDAY only. Members with ODD AMA numbers may fly on SUNDAY only. If you arrive at the field and you see 10 cars, ask fellow members if anyone expects to leave soon. Conversely, if you have been at the field for several hours, consider yielding your spot to the new arrival. Otherwise, you should leave the field or remain in your car until someone leaves.
NOTE: It’s OK to fly on your non-assigned weekend day as long as there are 10 or less members present. You should yield your spot if the situation changes.
4. Rule # 4 is rescinded. WEEKDAYS, all members may fly. However, if you arrive at the field and you see 10 cars, ask fellow members if anyone expects to leave soon. Conversely, if you have been at the field for several hours, consider yielding your spot to the new arrival. Otherwise, you should leave the field or remain in your car until someone leaves.
5. Most importantly, individuals in very high risk categories as defined by the government should seriously consider NOT coming to the field at all, and certainly not on busy weekends. Your safety is your responsibility, so choose wisely and be conservative. Above all, if you are sick with any symptoms, please DO NOT come to the field.

NOTE: These Guidelines may be modified as appropriate and as the situation changes. We look forward to getting back to larger gatherings as the State enters into Phase 3. Please have fun and Stay Safe!
